Enrich Brisbane launches at the Hilton
29 November 2011: Enrich Brisbane, an innovative, interactive and inspirational three-day event showcasing the best in life, food and wine is coming to Brisbane and will take place over three days on Friday March 30 to Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Queenslanders who value having rich and full social lives will enjoy a wide range of experiences featuring some of the country?s top chefs and the finest food, wine and speakers. With four main stage areas and some 100 stands, there will be a chance to sample some of the next generation of cookery, hi-tech appliances and
entertainment equipment. With outdoor entertaining forming an integral part of Queenslander?s lifestyle, a diverse and exciting space will excite and surprise.
Last night, the Enrich Brisbane concept was launched at the Hilton Brisbane?s new Vintaged Bar + Grill, providing a sneak preview of what visitors can expect over the three day lifestyle experience.
Guests, food identities and Enrich partners were treated to a taste of the experiential activities that will separate it from other food, wine and lifestyle events.
Campos coffee turned the perception of coffee upside down with their ice filtered single origin coffee sampled chilled, Lindt explored the space between wine and chocolate through a matching experiment and Regal Salmon took seafood to a new level by pairing different variants of King Salmon with exclusive wines provided by Wine Selectors.
The evening was accented with a flaming cookery demonstration by lapsed TV cook Ian Parmenter, who will feature at the 2012 inaugural event. Says Parmenter “although I am passionate about cooking and eating the best produce, and enjoying the finest wines - as many people know – I?m also passionate about convivial company, music, entertainment, playing with electronic toys and outdoor living. I can?t wait for Enrich Brisbane.” Also contributing to the launch event were noted local chefs Alastair McLeod and Ben O?Donoghue.
Enrich?s General Manager, David Kelly spoke enthusiastically about Queensland grown produce, local businesses and the pending event - “Enrich Brisbane is not just another „food and wine? expo. We are developing a show that takes a whole of lifestyle approach, presenting visitors a diverse range of interesting exhibitors, entertaining speakers and a broad range of interactive demonstrations and experiences, all designed to leave visitors feeling “enriched”
with a sense of having tasted, touched, experienced or learnt something new. The only thing better than finding something new is sharing it with friends, and that is what Enrich Brisbane is all about.”
Respected Brisbane chef and TV presenter Alastair McLeod commented, "The promotion of local produce will always have my unequivocal support. Enrich is a terrific way for local producers to showcase their wares. I love the idea of combining the three elements - food, wine and lifestyle"
"Through Bretts Wharf, Tank and my media engagements, I have the privilege of getting to know amazing growers, farmers, fishermen and food and wine producers - their vitality, enthusiasm, passion for what they do is an inspiration.
I love the idea that Enrich will provide the opportunity for people to meet those growers and sample their food and wine".Brisbane will be the first city to host Enrich with the event expected to become the most anticipated life, food and wine „experience? across cities annually.
Enrich are proud supporters of OzHarvest who in September 2011 successfully launched their food rescue operation in Brisbane. Within three months, over 10,000 meals have been delivered to those in need in Brisbane and over 10 million meals distributed nationally.
