Over the last few months the Sunshine Coast Council has been working with Irene from D'licious Gourmet Hampers to create a range of Seasons of the Sun gift hampers using local produce. The hampers have been designed to suit all tastes and budgets.I thought you may be interested seeing these great looking hampers. I think this a great way to support local producers while at the same time these will make a unique gift during the upcoming festive season.

For those that came along to the Food Q Showcase event it was a good night enjoyed by all. It was a really great opportunity to see and taste some great locally produced products. It was unfortunate that Brisbane was struck by bad weather for the evening as this no doubt affected the numbers. However as an inaugral event it was a great start. Here's some snaps I took on the night.

Salad Central, the Kitchen Garden program at Chevallum State School has added another achievement to their growing list of accolades. Chevallum received the Edible Landscape Award at the Sunshine Coast Council’s Glossies ceremony held at the Sustainability Interpretive Centre at Mooloolaba on Friday evening.
The Granite Belt’s Mallow Organic Lamb was announced as a finalist in Delicious Magazine’s acclaimed 2011 Produce Awards last week.
The Produce Awards celebrate Australia’s best artisan producers and are judged by some of the nation’s leading chefs including Alla Wolf-Tasker, Matt Moran, Maggie Beer, Philip Johnson and Cheong Liew.
Delicious Magazine has informed finalists that they received a record number of entries this year, with nearly a thousand products judged from around Australia.
